How to Apply for Passport

One can apply for Indian Passport online by visiting the website First one has to register on this website by his valid email id and a link will be sent on the same email id of the user to activate the user account.

Next step is to login to the website as a Existing user. From here one can apply for Fresh/Reissue of Passport, Police Clearance Certificate (Issued by Regional Passport Office), and also for Official/Diplomatic Passport. Click on the desired service. After clicking on the desired link there are two options, Alternative 1 and Alternative 2 namely.

In alternative 1 one has to download the soft copy of the form and after filling the soft copy upload the filled form.

In alternative 2 one can fill the Application form online.

After completion of the Application form an Application Reference Number (ARN) is generated which is valid for 90 days. After this one has to take appointment for the desired Passport Seva Kender (PSK) as suitable for the convenience of the applicant. Appointment slots are locked till 1800 Hrs. appointment slots open sharp at 1800 Hrs and will remain open till all the slots are booked (Maximum 300 appointments a day).

One has to visit the PSK on the scheduled date and time with all the supported documents, in original and photocopy, and fee will be taken in Cash, and Photograph and Finger prints of Applicant will also be taken.

Once the Passport Application is applied in PSK it will reach to the Passport Branch on the same day and will be dispatched to the respective Police Stations on the very next day.
